Maple Syrup has been made on our farm for over a 100 years, back in those days this is how you got your sugar or sweeteners. It was made in big iron kettles over an open fire, dad says it was the same kettle they scalded the pig in. Now we have a little more modern equipment but still hold on to some of my grandfather’s traditions. I still light the first fire of the year with his old kitchen matches. We usually start boiling in late February and go to the end of March. Stop in if you see steam coming out of the sugar shack. Syrup is for sale year round.
